Mataram, insightnusantara.com – Pj Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Hassanudin, officially opened the Presean competition to commemorate the 66th anniversary of NTB. The event was held at the Gelanggang Pemuda on December 6, 2024.
In his speech, Governor Hassanudin emphasized that Presean serves as a platform for preserving a deeply rooted cultural tradition.
“It is our duty as NTB residents to promote our ancestral culture to the wider public. Best of luck in the competition. Uphold sportsmanship!” he stated.
The event, titled “Belage Pepadu Angoh”, is scheduled to run for two days, from December 6 to 7, featuring eight renowned pepadu (fighters) from Lombok Island, including Ken Arok, Cikararat, Rambo, Kamandaka, Kelabang Geni, Kebo Ireng, Demung Wire, and Putra Mandalika.
The public is invited to attend and witness this thrilling Presean duel as a way to celebrate traditional sports and support the preservation of cultural heritage. (zett)
