North Lombok, insightnusantara.com –Sanggar Sukma Rahayu held a North Lombok Art and Culture Performance at the Tioq Tata Tunaq Field on Monday (10/2). This event aims to preserve Sasak culture and tradition in the midst of the rapid development of information technology that affects the lives of the younger generation. This event lasted for a week dedicated to the people of North Lombok.
Regent of North Lombok, H. Djohan Sjamsu, in his speech which also officially opened the event, emphasized the importance of maintaining local manners and culture so that they are not eroded by the influence of technology.
"In line with the development of information technology, the influence is very big on our youngster. Therefore, we must remind them to maintain our manners and culture. Don't get lost in the existing changes," he said.
The Regent also appreciated the holding of this art and culture week as a step to re-instill traditional values among the younger generation. He is optimistic that North Lombok culture has high values that must be maintained and inherited.
Head of Sanggar Sukma Rahayu, Sukma Rani H. Dyla, explained that this activity not only presents an art performance, but also a cultural discussion involving 100 young people to discuss the culture of North Lombok.
"In addition to art performances such as Gendang Beleq and dances, we also hold cultural discussions, batik workshops, specialty culinary, and peresean. We thank the Ministry of Culture, the Regional Government of KLU, and all parties who have supported this activity," he said.
This event was also attended by the North Lombok Police Chief, AKBP Agus Purwanta, the elected Deputy Regent, Kusmalahadi Syamsuri, the Chairman of the KLU DPRD, Agus J, and related OPD officials.
In addition to art performances, this art and culture week is also enlivened with various traditional competitions, such as gasing competitions, as well as the distribution of prizes for the winners.
As the youngest autonomous region in NTB which is 16 years old, North Lombok continues to show significant development. Regent Djohan Sjamsu hopes that this cultural preservation effort can continue as part of the identity and pride of the people of North Lombok. (zett)
