North Lombok | Insightnusantara.com— A foreign citizen (WNA) woman from France was found dead hanging on the terrace of her rented house in Gili Air Hamlet, Gili Indah Village, Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Saturday (10/1) morning.
The victim is known as LN (35). The incident was first known around 07.00 Wita and immediately shocked the local residents.
North Lombok Police Chief AKBP Agus Purwanta, S.I.K., through the Head of Criminal Investigation of the North Lombok Police IPTU I Komang Wilandra, S.H., M.H., confirmed the incident.
"That's right, we received a report of a female foreigner who was found dead and strongly suspected of hanging herself. Currently, the incident is being handled by the Gili Indah Subsectoral Police together with the Pemenang Police and the North Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit," said Wilandra when confirmed.
Based on police information, the incident began when a witness, Patrick Gatel Pascal Honore, a French citizen, received a call from his colleague named Sandra around 06.56 Wita who asked him to check the victim's condition at the rented house.
Around 07.00 Wita, witnesses arrived at the location and found the victim already hanging with a rope in front of the terrace of the rental house. The witness then shouted for help until it was heard by a local resident, Mahdan, who was working on a project not far from the scene.
Mahdan then came to the location and lowered the victim's body by cutting the rope using a machete. The incident was then reported to the Head of Gili Air Village and forwarded to the police.
Receiving the report, the Gili Indah Subsectoral Police officers together with the Pemenang Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the North Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to the scene to do the initial handling.
"Officers have secured the crime scene, secured evidence, processed the crime scene, and examined a number of witnesses," said Wilandra.
He added, based on the results of the initial examination, no signs of violence were found on the victim's body and the incident temporarily led to alleged suicide.
"However, the investigators are still conducting an in-depth investigation to ensure the exact cause of the victim's death as well as tracing the background of this incident," he said.

Lombok Utara | Insightnusantara.com — Seorang warga negara asing (WNA) perempuan asal Prancis ditemukan meninggal dunia dalam kondisi tergantung di teras rumah kontrakannya di Dusun Gili Air, Desa Gili Indah, Kecamatan Pemenang, Kabupaten Lombok Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Sabtu (10/1) pagi.
Korban diketahui bernama LN (35). Peristiwa tersebut pertama kali diketahui sekitar pukul 07.00 Wita dan segera menggegerkan warga setempat.
Kapolres Lombok Utara AKBP Agus Purwanta, S.I.K., melalui Kasat Reskrim Polres Lombok Utara IPTU I Komang Wilandra, S.H., M.H., membenarkan adanya peristiwa tersebut.
“Benar, kami menerima laporan adanya WNA perempuan yang ditemukan dalam keadaan meninggal dunia dan diduga kuat akibat gantung diri. Saat ini peristiwa tersebut sedang ditangani oleh Polsubsektor Gili Indah bersama Polsek Pemenang dan Satreskrim Polres Lombok Utara,” ujar Wilandra saat dikonfirmasi.
Berdasarkan keterangan kepolisian, peristiwa itu bermula ketika seorang saksi, Patrick Gatel Pascal Honore, warga negara Prancis, menerima telepon dari rekannya bernama Sandra sekitar pukul 06.56 Wita yang memintanya untuk mengecek kondisi korban di rumah kontrakan.
Sekitar pukul 07.00 Wita, saksi tiba di lokasi dan mendapati korban sudah dalam kondisi tergantung dengan seutas tali di depan teras rumah kontrakan. Saksi kemudian berteriak meminta pertolongan hingga terdengar oleh seorang warga setempat, Mahdan, yang sedang bekerja di proyek tidak jauh dari lokasi kejadian.
Mahdan kemudian datang ke lokasi dan menurunkan tubuh korban dengan cara memotong tali menggunakan parang. Peristiwa tersebut selanjutnya dilaporkan kepada Kepala Dusun Gili Air dan diteruskan ke pihak kepolisian.
Menerima laporan itu, aparat Polsubsektor Gili Indah bersama Unit Reskrim Polsek Pemenang dan Satreskrim Polres Lombok Utara langsung mendatangi lokasi kejadian untuk melakukan penanganan awal.
“Petugas telah melakukan pengamanan tempat kejadian perkara, mengamankan barang bukti, melakukan olah TKP, serta memeriksa sejumlah saksi,” kata Wilandra.
Ia menambahkan, berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan awal, tidak ditemukan tanda-tanda kekerasan pada tubuh korban dan peristiwa tersebut sementara ini mengarah pada dugaan bunuh diri.
“Kendati demikian, penyidik tetap melakukan pendalaman untuk memastikan penyebab pasti kematian korban sekaligus menelusuri latar belakang peristiwa ini,” ujarnya.
